01 · The problem

There’s more to learn from than ever. The gap keeps widening.

Videos, courses, solvers, Discord servers. More material than any generation of poker player has had access to. Most of it isn’t wrong. Most of it is just unordered, unprioritized, and missing the part nobody gives you: which nodes actually matter, how deep to go, and how theory connects to a real decision when the clock is running.

The gap between consuming content and actually improving hasn’t closed. For most people, it’s gotten wider. If any of these sound familiar, this page is for you.

  • You’ve watched hours of coaching and couldn’t name what changed the next time you sat down.
  • You watch videos or study but feel like you could go deeper or faster with proper guidance.
  • You think GTO is a static equilibrium that doesn’t apply to your game.
  • You want to feel more confident when you shot the top of the buy-in range.

“Nobody learns that way. I know, because I tried to learn that way for years.”

02 · Why this one

I use sims. Just not the way everyone else does.

That’s the thing I want to be clear about before anything else, because it’s most of what’s out there: someone’s screen, random spot after random spot, no throughline, no structure.

My coaching is built on sims. But I approach them the way an engineer approaches a dataset: highest-yield nodes first, shortcuts to what matters most, and a clear line from theory to a real decision at the table. Here’s what that looks like in practice.

  1. Give you shortcuts to the most important nodes of the game, and share everything I know about them.
  2. Teach you how I learn and progress. Not the output, the method.
  3. Teach you how I make decisions in real life, and how I juggle between GTO and exploitation to extract EV$ everywhere I can.
  4. Make you good enough at understanding your game in depth, and what each parameter does, that you can compute your own solutions at the table. Real ones, in real time, for spots nobody handed you.

That last one is the whole point. Everything else is in service of it.

I’ve seen pros unlock levels they’d stopped expecting, win bracelets and Triton titles, and, the part I care about most, find new ways to keep progressing and raise their ambitions.

And it isn’t only pros. I’ve had dozens of serious amateurs join just wanting to improve, some of them unlocking a path they never knew existed, like turning full-time pro. And if going pro isn’t one of your ambitions, that’s fine: is there anything better than freaking winning a poker tournament?

03 · The fork in the road

Ten weeks from now, you’re in one of two places.

If you keep going alone

The same player, ten weeks older.

  • The same buy-ins, and the same plan to move up next year.
  • The same spots costing you, still without a clear reason why.
  • More passive video learning, with little to show for it.
  • No live access to someone who’s done it and can give you the shortcuts.

If you take a seat this November

A different player at the same table.

  • Ten live sessions of Thomas’s decision-making, aimed at the spots you play.
  • A way of studying you keep for the rest of your career.
  • Twenty-four serious players around you, raising the bar every week.
  • Single raised pots move your win rate more than anything else in NLHE. That’s why we start there. IP vs BB from all positions in cEV and under ICM, IP vs SB, IP vs flat caller. The entire SRP game, so you stop leaking in the pots that decide your month.

“6 months ago I felt I had plateaued making an avg of 175k/year as an online grinder without the confidence to play anything higher than soft $215 buy ins. Today I’m mixing in up to $600s and plan to be mixing in 1ks by end of year.”

Tony · Online grinder

“I was already a profitable mid-stakes player and could hold my own in upper mid-stakes. What I was afraid of was the next jump, getting good enough that I could sit in a $10K buy-in event if I chose to. That’s the level Thomas got me to.”

Ryan · Mid-stakes pro · now firing $10Ks

“I’m playing the best poker of my life, I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been, and my confidence, which I used to struggle with a lot, has improved immensely. One of the biggest takeaways has been learning how to study in a structured way by following your notes and seeing how you approach learning.”

05 · Who it’s for

Four people I want in that room.

The serious amateur

You play live tournaments under $5,000 and you’re probably good at it. You want to win more, and you’d quite like to stop feeling that the bigger buy-ins belong to other people.

The grinder who’s stuck

You’ve been winning at the same level for two years. The graph goes up, slightly. You want to give yourself the means to reach your highest potential.

The pro who knows the theory

You can quote the solver at me. But you know structure, depth and advanced exploits are what make the best players what they are. You want the explanation, not more output.

Coming over from cash

The MTT structure keeps punishing you in ways your instincts don’t cover yet, and you know it’s costing you. Now you want the shortcut to MTT excellence.

Players are always grouped by experience level, so the room fits where you are.

Then the room trains together: real spots, real mistakes, in real time. Every workshop ends with an open AMA, the closest anyone in the program gets to Thomas. 10 · Be honest with yourself

Who it isn’t for.

  • If you’ve never studied away from the table, start with the video course and come back to me. You’d be spending the money to catch up rather than to improve.
  • If you want outputs to memorise without understanding what’s behind them, this will frustrate you.
  • If you can’t give it real hours for ten weeks, wait for a module when you can. It’s a working program and it shows.
  • If you need a guaranteed outcome before you’ll commit, I can’t offer that. What I can point to are the results I’ve seen in former students.

Every question, answered before you buy.

Thomas Boivin’s Group Coaching is a ten-week online cohort for serious tournament (MTT) players, run live on Zoom. The November cohort opens with SRP Mastery in early November, costs $5,000 per module, and is capped at 25 players per group.

Is it right for me?

Am I good enough for it?

The bar isn’t a stake. It’s whether you’ve studied away from the table before: solvers, coaching, proper hand review, any of it. Past cohorts have had everyone from serious amateurs to high-stakes pros, and both ends got their money’s worth. Players are always grouped by experience level, so the room fits where you are.

I only started playing recently. Should I join?

Probably not yet. If you started playing very recently, coaching isn’t where we’d start you. Begin with the video course, and if you’d like a seat in a future cohort for newer players, email info@thomasboivin.poker and we’ll put you on the list.

I play high stakes. Will I get enough out of it?

Yes. Players are always grouped by experience level, so you’d be in a room built for your level. Every room is capped at twenty-five so the time with Thomas stays real.

Is there an application or a call?

No. There’s no application. You take your seat, fill in a short onboarding questionnaire so Thomas has context on your game, and book your one-on-one.

What if Thomas thinks I’m not the right fit?

He’ll tell you honestly in your one-on-one and point you to what he’d do instead.

The program

When does it start, and when do doors close?

We start in early November with SRP Mastery. Doors close on Wednesday, October 28, or sooner if the twenty-five seats go first.

When are the live sessions?

Sessions are in the morning US time. Exact day and time are set for each group after you join and posted in your coaching hub with the Zoom link. Every session is recorded.

Is it online or in person?

Online. Every live session runs on Zoom, so you can join from anywhere.

Why does everyone start on SRP?

Single raised pots determine your win rate in NLHE more than any other node. Fix them and it shows up in every session. If Thomas sees in your one-on-one that you’d be better served starting somewhere else, he’ll tell you.

What does “per module” mean?

A module is ten weeks of coaching on one part of the game, and it stands on its own. More modules are on the road, and cohorts usually continue into the next one together. You’re never committing to more than the one in front of you.

How big is each group?

No more than twenty-five players per cohort, every time.

How much time does it need?

The live sessions are the core of the program and they take roughly 2 hours per week. Plan another 2 hours a week for the video material, the drills and the homework. It’s a working program. If you treat it like a video subscription you’ll get the least out of it of anyone in the room.

What if I miss a live session?

They’re recorded and you keep lifetime access, so you won’t lose the material. But most of the value is in the room, so if you already know you’ll miss most of them, wait for a module that fits your calendar better.

Do I need a solver?

No. The homework is built in Octopi Professional, and a 3-month membership is included with your seat, so you have everything you need.

How long do I keep access?

For life. The session recordings, the video course and the Discord stay yours after the ten weeks end.

What language is it in?

English.

Money and joining

How much does it cost?

$5,000 per module, paid in full, or $5,500 in two payments or $5,750 in three. Master the River buyers get $199 off with their code at checkout.

Is it really worth $5,000?

Ten live sessions with Thomas, the video course, three months of Octopi Professional, ten weeks of Full Range and a room of serious players. Then it depends what you play for. Next 3 months of short-term results, or an entire career accelerator? What if you win more, at your current stakes, over 3 or 5 years? What if you move up stakes? What if you meet one life-changing person? That’s how I personally think when I’m investing in myself.

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes. Pay $5,000 in full, two payments of $2,750, or three payments of $1,917, all at checkout.

Can I pay by Luxon, wire or crypto?

Yes. Email info@thomasboivin.poker and we’ll sort it.

What happens after I pay?

You fill in a short onboarding questionnaire about your game, book your one-on-one with Thomas if you joined by October 25, and get access to your coaching hub, with your session times and Zoom link, before the first session.

How does the one-on-one bonus work?

Everyone who takes a seat by Sunday, October 25 gets a private 20-minute coaching session with Thomas, booked right after you join. Doors stay open until October 28, but the one-on-one isn’t included after the 25th.

I took Master the River. Do I get the credit?

Yes. Enter the code from your Master the River emails at checkout and your $199 comes off the tuition in full.

Doors close in Wed, Oct 28
